AN EXCITING OPPORTUNITY FOR AN EXPERIENCED, COMMERCIALLY FOCUSED HEAD OF HR / HR MANAGER TO LEAD THE PEOPLE FUNCTION FOR A GROWING, MULTI-SITE WASTE MANAGEMENT AND RECYCLING BUSINESS

Salary : £65,000 - £75,000 plus car allowance, bonus and pension. 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.

Location: Home based with travel to sites as required
You will work closely with the senior leadership team and operational managers, providing both strategic and hands-on HR leadership across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the Senior HR Advisor
Develop and deliver the HR and people strategy aligned to business growth.
Advise senior leaders and managers on commercial HR matters.
Lead HR policies, processes and employment-law compliance.
Manage employee relations, including disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance issues.
Lead recruitment, retention, succession planning and talent management.
Coach and develop managers and leaders.
Improve performance management, engagement, culture and wellbeing initiatives.
Support organisational change, restructuring and business growth.
Oversee payroll and HR administration.
Build strong relationships with employees and managers across multiple operational sites.
Ability to integrate new employees following acquisitions

About You

Experienced Head of HR, HR Manager, Senior HRBP or equivalent.
Background in waste/recycling, environmental services, logistics, manufacturing, construction or another operational environment.
Strong UK employment law and employee relations experience.
Experience supporting multi-site/geographically dispersed teams.
Commercial, pragmatic and hands-on approach.
Strong leadership, communication and influencing skills.
Experience delivering organisational change and people initiatives.

Requirements

CIPD Level 7 or equivalent experience essential
Valid UK driving licence essential
Willingness to travel regularly across sites in the North of England and Midlands
