We are working with a large contractor who are looking for an experienced Design Manager to join their team to support on their projects in South West England and South Wales.

This role will involve managing the design process, coordinating multidisciplinary design teams, engaging with clients and stakeholders, and ensuring designs are delivered in line with programme, budget, quality, and compliance requirements.

Location: Bristol/South Wales

Rate/Salary: £55,000-65,000 + package DOE (Day rates also considered for interim position)

Permanent and Interim considered

Responsibilities

Coordinate architects, consultants, subcontractors and internal delivery teams.
Ensure design information is produced in line with project programmes.
Identify and manage design risks and technical issues.
Review design deliverables for quality, buildability and compliance.
Work closely with commercial, planning and operational teams to support successful project delivery.
Maintain effective communication with clients and key stakeholders.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Design Manager with a Tier 1 or major main contractor.
Experience delivering complex construction projects within sectors such as defence, justice, healthcare, education or commercial. (Preferable MoJ/MoD experience)
Strong understanding of design management processes, construction methodologies and current Building Regulations.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Relevant construction qualification (HNC/HND, degree or equivalent) is preferred.
BPSS Clearance will be required (Can be processed once successful but must be eligible).
