We are working with a large contractor who are looking for an experienced Senior Design Manager for projects in the South West of England to join their team on a permanent basis.
Location: Bristol
Salary: £75,000 - £85,000 + Package (DOE)
Permanent contract - Full time
Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end design process for construction projects, ensuring efficient development and delivery of design solutions.
Manage key stakeholder relationships, including clients, subcontractors, and internal project and design teams, fostering collaborative environments for optimal project outcomes.
Ensure strict adherence to construction design and management regulations (CDM 2015) and health and safety principles throughout all project phases.
Proactively identify and mitigate design risks while capitalizing on opportunities to enhance project value and delivery.
Oversee the selection and competency of design consultants, manage their fees, and ensure the timely delivery of design programs and information release schedules.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Senior Design Manager with a Tier 1 or major main contractor.
Experience delivering complex construction projects within sectors such as defence, justice, healthcare, education or commercial (Preference in MoJ/MoD)
Strong understanding of design management processes, construction methodologies and current Building Regulations.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Relevant construction qualification (HNC/HND, degree or equivalent) is preferred.
BPSS Clearance will be required (Can be processed once successful but must be eligible).
