MEP Design Manager

MEP Design Manager - MEP Contractor - £80,000

A leading MEP contractor is looking for an experienced MEP Design Manager to take ownership of design delivery across major building-services projects, working closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors and site teams.

The Role

• Lead MEP design delivery from pre-construction through to completion.
• Manage the design process across mechanical, electrical and public health services.
• Review consultant designs for coordination, buildability and compliance.
• Lead design reviews and technical coordination meetings.
• Manage design programmes, deliverables and key design milestones.
• Coordinate consultants, subcontractors and internal project teams.
• Review technical submissions, drawings, specifications and calculations.
• Identify design risks and develop practical solutions.
• Manage RFIs, technical queries and design changes.
• Support procurement and subcontractor engagement.
• Provide technical input into tenders and pre-construction activities.
• Work closely with commercial and project management teams.
• Ensure design information is suitable for construction.
• Monitor design quality and compliance with project requirements.
• Support value engineering and design optimisation.
• Manage the production and review of coordinated MEP information.
• Liaise with clients, architects, structural engineers and specialist consultants.
• Assist with programme planning and design resource requirements.
• Maintain accurate design records and documentation.
• Support commissioning, handover and close-out activities.

Requirements

• Strong MEP design background within a contractor or specialist MEP environment.
• Previous Design Manager / Senior Design Manager experience.
• Good understanding of mechanical and electrical building services.
• Strong technical coordination and communication skills.
• Experience managing consultants and subcontractors.
• Ability to work across multiple project stages.
• Relevant engineering or construction qualification preferred.

Salary: £80,000 per annum
