About the Role

Yolk Recruitment is delighted to be supporting one of our established clients in the recruitment of an ambitious and driven Business Development Manager to join their growing team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced B2B sales professional with a background in IT, Managed Services, Cloud, Cyber Security, Telecommunications or Digital Transformation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and winning new business, developing long-term customer relationships and converting prospects into recurring managed service clients.

You'll work closely with business leaders to understand their technology challenges and recommend solutions that can improve efficiency, strengthen security, support digital transformation and reduce business risk.

This is a consultative, new-business-focused role, ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, opening doors and developing opportunities rather than simply selling products.

Key Responsibilities

New Business Development

• Identify, qualify and develop new business opportunities across SME and mid-market organisations.
• Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective customers.
• Generate new recurring revenue through Managed Services, Cyber Security, Cloud, Microsoft 365, Modern Workplace and Telecoms solutions.
• Conduct prospect meetings, discovery sessions and customer presentations.
• Develop strategic account plans for target organisations.
• Build relationships with key decision-makers, including Directors, Managing Directors, IT Managers and Heads of Operations.

• Take a proactive new-business approach, identifying prospective customers and creating opportunities for new recurring revenue.
• Manage opportunities throughout the complete sales lifecycle, from initial prospecting through to close.
• Develop proposals, quotations and solution presentations.
• Maintain accurate pipeline forecasting and CRM records.
• Work closely with technical and service teams to develop tailored customer solutions.
• Attend networking events, exhibitions and customer meetings.

• Identify opportunities to cross-sell and upsell additional services.
• Work alongside marketing to maximise lead-generation activity and campaign effectiveness.
• Support business growth across South Wales, South West England and the wider UK market.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone with a proven track record in IT-focused business development and new business sales.

Essential Experience

• 2-3+ years' experience in Business Development or IT Sales.
• Proven track record of generating new business revenue.
• Experience selling one or more of the following: Managed Services, Microsoft 365, Azure, Cyber Security, Telecoms, Cloud Solutions or IT Support Services.
• Strong consultative and solution-led selling skills.
• Experience working with CRM systems.
• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Experience

• Previous experience within an MSP, MSSP or IT consultancy.
• Understanding of Cyber Essentials, Microsoft Security solutions and compliance frameworks.
• Knowledge of AI, automation and digital transformation technologies.
