Position Overview:
Reporting to the CCO, the Head of Marketing is responsible for leading the day-to-day marketing function and delivering marketing activity that supports the company's commercial objectives and long-term growth.
The role owns the planning, execution and optimisation of all marketing activity, ensuring campaigns, content, digital channels and external partners work together to generate demand, optimise conversion, support sales and strengthen the company's market position.
Working closely with the CCO, CEO and Revenue Operations Manager, the Head of Marketing will translate business strategy into practical marketing plans, driving measurable business results through effective execution, data-driven decision making and the adoption of AI.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the day-to-day leadership and performance of the marketing function.
- Lead and develop the Marketing Manager, ensuring clear priorities and high-quality delivery.
- Translate business strategy into marketing plans that drive demand generation, customer engagement and commercial growth.
- Ensure marketing activity supports the company's commercial objectives.
Demand Generation, Website & CRO
- Own the planning, execution and optimisation of integrated marketing campaigns across digital, content, events and partner channels.
- Drive demand generation initiatives that generate qualified pipeline and support business growth.
- Own the company's website and digital presence, ensuring it remains an effective platform for lead generation, customer engagement and brand credibility.
- Continuously optimise the customer journey and conversion rates across key marketing touchpoints, improving website performance, lead quality and campaign effectiveness through data-driven testing and experimentation.
- Work closely with Sales to develop campaigns, messaging, case studies and marketing materials that support customer acquisition and revenue growth.
Marketing Operations & Performance
- Own the marketing calendar and oversee the successful delivery of marketing initiatives.
- Manage external marketing agencies and suppliers, ensuring high-quality delivery and value for investment.
- Ensure consistent positioning, messaging and brand standards across all marketing activity and customer touchpoints.
- Work closely with the Revenue Operations Manager to monitor marketing performance, pipeline contribution and campaign effectiveness.
- Be accountable for marketing KPIs, reporting progress and identifying opportunities to improve marketing performance and return on investment.
- Champion the use of AI, automation and modern marketing technologies to improve marketing performance and productivity.
- Drive a culture of experimentation by continually testing campaigns, messaging, website improvements and conversion optimisation opportunities.
- Identify opportunities to improve marketing processes, workflows and customer engagement through innovation.
- Build strong relationships across Sales, Revenue Operations and the wider business to ensure marketing supports commercial success.
- Provide marketing insight and recommendations that contribute to business growth and continuous improvement.
Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience leading a B2B marketing function.
- Demonstrable experience delivering integrated marketing campaigns that contribute to pipeline growth and commercial success.
- Experience managing marketing teams and external agencies.
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of how marketing supports sales and revenue growth.
- Experience developing and optimising websites as demand generation platforms, with a strong understanding of conversion rate optimisation (CRO) and customer journeys.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing, content marketing and demand generation.
- Experience using marketing data, KPIs and performance insights to drive decision making and continuous improvement.
- Experience using AI, automation and modern marketing technologies to improve marketing effectiveness and productivity.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and project management skills.
- Experience marketing B2B products or services within the energy, construction, infrastructure, engineering, industrial or plant hire sectors would be advantageous.
- Experience supporting complex B2B buying journeys involving multiple stakeholders is desirable.
