An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Development professional to join a highly regarded and growing specialist interiors contractor operating within the London interior fit-out market.

This is a senior-level appointment for somebody who understands how the fit-out sector works, has established relationships within the market and knows how to identify, develop and convert opportunities with leading contractors, clients, and end users.

We seek someone currently operating as a Senior Business Development Manager, Sales Manager, Business Development Director, Sales Director or similar, currently working with leading fit-out contractor.

You must have operated within the commercial fit-out sector and have experience building relationships with main contractors, developers, designers and other key decision-makers across London.

The Role

The successful candidate will take a senior role in driving new business opportunities and strengthening existing relationships across the London fit-out market.

Responsibilities will include:

• Building and maintaining relationships with key clients and decision-makers
• Identifying upcoming projects and opportunities at an early stage
• Developing relationships with pre-construction, estimating, procurement and commercial teams
• Working closely with senior management to develop the company's business development strategy
• Creating and managing a strong pipeline of suitable opportunities
• Attending client meetings, networking events and industry functions
• Understanding client requirements and positioning the business effectively for upcoming tenders and projects
• Maintaining contact with existing clients and developing repeat business
• Working alongside estimating, commercial and operational teams to help convert opportunities into secured work
• Monitoring market activity, contractor pipelines and competitor activity
• Representing the business professionally within the London construction and fit-out market

The Candidate

We are particularly interested in speaking with candidates who have:

• Previous business development or sales experience within a construction subcontractor
• Strong experience within the commercial interior fit-out market
• Strong experience within the life science and pharmaceutical market
• Existing relationships with a strong "black book" of contacts.
• A proven track record of developing and winning new business
• Good knowledge of the London construction and fit-out market
• The ability to develop opportunities from initial introduction through to tender and secured project
• Strong communication, networking and relationship-building skills
• A commercial mindset and understanding of profitable project selection
• The confidence to represent a well-established business at senior level

For somebody currently operating as a Senior Business Development Manager, this could offer a route into a more strategic director-level position.

Equally, an established Business Development Director or Sales Director looking for a strong platform and greater influence would also be of interest.
