Vets for Pets Cambridge Bar Hill - Exceptional Facilities | Endoscopy & Endosurgery Training | Flexible Working |

Want to work somewhere that genuinely offers something different?

At Vets for Pets Cambridge Bar Hill, we're looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our growing team.

We're a progressive, purpose-built practice with facilities and expertise that go well beyond what is typically expected in first-opinion practice. Our mission is simple: to make advanced veterinary care accessible by offering procedures traditionally only available through referral centres, whilst maintaining the affordability and continuity of care that first-opinion practice provides.

This means our vets have the opportunity to be involved in a fascinating and varied caseload that includes not only routine medicine and surgery but also advanced minimally invasive procedures.

Why Join Us?

Our team at Vets for Pet Bar Hill and Cambridge Beehive currently consists of:

• 9 Veterinary Surgeons
• 10 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 1 Student Nurse and 3 Veterinary Care Assistants
• Talented Reception Team, Insurance Manager and Practice Manager
• Multiple Certificate holders, including Surgery and endoscopy and endosurgery and colleagues with a wide range of clinical interests

We believe great medicine starts with great people. We work collaboratively, support one another, and actively encourage professional development and clinical progression.

Bar Hill is home to a growing referral service focused on:

• Flexible and rigid endoscopy
• Laparoscopic surgery
• Minimally invasive diagnostic procedures

The practice was purpose-built with endoscopy and endosurgery in mind, providing facilities rarely found in the first-opinion environment.

An interest in endoscopy, laparoscopy or minimally invasive surgery would be fantastic, but it is absolutely not a prerequisite. We are far more interested in finding a colleague who is curious, enthusiastic and committed to developing their skills.

For the right candidate, we can provide:

• Structured mentoring
• Practical hands-on training
• Opportunities to develop skills in endoscopy and endosurgery
• Support towards certificates and further qualifications

If you've ever thought, "I’d love to learn advanced procedures but don’t know where to start," this could be the perfect opportunity.

What We Offer

• Salary from DOE
• Full-time or part-time considered
• 4-day week for full-time colleagues
• Paid lunch breaks
• 1 in 4.5 weekends (Saturday and Sunday)
• Time back in lieu the following week after a weekend worked
• Generous CPD allowance with additional support for certificates
• Professional memberships paid
• Relocation support available for the right candidate

About You

We're looking for a Veterinary Surgeon who:

• Enjoys building strong client relationships
• Wants to work cases up to a high standard
• Values teamwork and collaboration
• Is keen to continue learning and developing

Whether you're looking for a better work-life balance, more clinical freedom, or the chance to develop advanced skills that would normally only be available in a referral environment, we'd love to hear from you.
