We're recruiting for an experienced, hands‑on Maintenance Manager to lead a team of 15 at a flagship site near Colchester.
This is a varied management role overseeing the maintenance of the site's facilities, accommodation and grounds, ensuring everything is safe, well maintained and operating to a high standard.
The Role
Lead, manage and support a team of 15 maintenance staff
Oversee both planned and reactive maintenance across the site
Manage maintenance schedules, contractors and external suppliers
Monitor maintenance budgets and ensure resources are used effectively
Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety requirements
Maintain high standards across facilities, accommodation and grounds
Take a hands‑on approach when required and support the wider maintenance team
About You
Previous experience as a Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Supervisor or similar
Experience leading and managing a maintenance team
Strong organisational and leadership skills
Good all-round knowledge of building/facilities maintenance
Understanding of health & safety and compliance
Practical, hands‑on approach with the ability to get involved when needed
Able to manage competing priorities in a busy site environment
Working Hours
March - October: 45 hours per week over 5.5 days
November - February: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Standard hours: 8:00am - 6:00pm, with a 1-hour lunch break
