Are you an experienced Business Development professional with a strong track record of generating and winning new business?

Our client is an established and highly regarded organisation looking for a proactive, relationship-focused Business Development Manager to join their growing commercial team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys opening doors, building relationships and taking ownership of opportunities from initial prospecting through to successful close.

You will be responsible for generating your own pipeline, identifying and developing new business opportunities and building relationships with prospective clients across a broad range of industries.

This is a consultative sales environment where understanding each client's individual requirements is key. You'll work closely with prospective customers to understand their needs before developing tailored commercial solutions.

You do not need previous fleet or vehicle leasing experience. We are keen to speak with successful Business Development professionals from wider B2B environments who can demonstrate a strong track record of personally generating and winning new business.

The majority of prospective client meetings are conducted via Teams, with travel required for face-to-face client meetings, events and other business requirements where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and approach prospective clients to generate new business opportunities
  • Build and manage a strong self-generated pipeline
  • Develop relationships with key decision-makers across a variety of industries
  • Build relationships with prospective clients through Teams, telephone and face-to-face meetings
  • Manage the complete sales process from initial prospecting and discovery through to proposal, negotiation and close
  • Understand individual client requirements and develop tailored commercial solutions
  • Deliver presentations and proposals to prospective clients
  • Support bids, tenders and framework opportunities where required
  • Develop pricing proposals and manage commercial negotiations
  • Work closely with internal teams to develop the right solution for each prospective client
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts and pipeline information
  • Attend face-to-face client meetings, industry events and exhibitions where required
  • Successfully transition newly won clients into the Account Management team

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience within a B2B new business or Business Development role
  • A demonstrable track record of personally generating and winning new business
  • Comfortable proactively prospecting and opening new client relationships
  • Strong consultative and relationship-led sales approach
  • Experience managing opportunities through the full sales cycle
  • Able to demonstrate clear commercial results against sales targets
  • Confident understanding customer requirements and developing appropriate solutions
  • Strong presentation, proposal and negotiation skills
  • Comfortable building relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Commercially aware, proactive and self-motivated
  • Organised with strong pipeline and CRM management skills
  • Full UK driving licence

Previous experience within fleet management, vehicle leasing, vehicle funding or automotive services would be advantageous but is not essential.

We would equally welcome applications from experienced B2B sales professionals from financial services, asset finance, business services, managed services or other consultative sales environments.

Salary & Benefits

  • £48,000 - £53,000 basic salary, depending on experience
  • Uncapped commission
  • Company car or cash allowance option
  • 5-hour working week
  • 25 days' annual leave, increasing with service to a maximum of 30 days
  • 4% matched pension contribution
  • Private medical care following successful completion of the assessment period
  • Life assurance at 3.5x scheme earnings following successful completion of the assessment period
  • Generous sickness entitlement
  • Excellent opportunity to develop within an established organisation
