Precision Components Ltd is a specialist manufacturer of high-precision helical rotors and engineered components used within compressor, blower, pump and other demanding industrial applications.

Operating from our Rochdale manufacturing facility, we supply customers across the UK and international markets with precision-machined components produced to exacting standards.

We are seeking an experienced Technical Sales Manager to maintain our current customer base and drive the next phase of our business growth by identifying new customers, developing emerging markets and securing commercially attractive opportunities that align with our specialist manufacturing capabilities.

This is a senior, externally focused business development role requiring a strong commercial mindset combined with a genuine understanding of precision engineering and advanced manufacturing processes.

The Role

Reporting directly to senior management, you will be responsible for developing new business opportunities and expanding our presence within existing and emerging markets.

You will work with OEMs, engineering organisations and industrial manufacturers to identify opportunities for the supply of precision-engineered rotors and similar complex machined components.

Success in this role will depend upon your ability to understand customer applications, recognise opportunities that align with our manufacturing strengths and convert these opportunities into long-term profitable partnerships.

The role involves regular interaction with engineers, technical specialists, procurement teams and senior decision-makers, therefore the ability to discuss both engineering and commercial considerations with confidence is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to grow sales of precision-engineered rotors and related components.
• Identify, qualify and secure new customers within target markets and industrial sectors.
• Assess emerging markets, technologies and applications that may provide opportunities for business growth.
• Promote Precision Components' capability in the manufacture of complex helical form and other precision-machined components.
• Engage directly with customers to understand application requirements, technical challenges and performance expectations.
• Lead commercial negotiations adhering to company approved pricing structure, supply agreements and long-term contractual arrangements.
• Identify opportunities to supply components that utilise manufacturing processes and technologies similar to those within our existing product portfolio.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with OEMs, engineering teams, procurement professionals and key industry stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure customer requirements can be translated into practical manufacturing solutions.
• Represent the company at customer meetings, exhibitions and industry events in the UK and internationally.
• Maintain market intelligence relating to customer requirements, industry developments and competitor activity.

Candidate Profile

Essential

• Proven success in technical sales, business development or commercial leadership within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of CNC machining, milling, grinding and metal cutting processes.
• Sound knowledge of the manufacture and application of helical form components, rotating equipment or other complex precision-machined products.
• Ability to discuss component design, tolerances, materials, manufacturability and performance with engineers and technical specialists.
• Proven track record of generating new business and developing new market opportunities.
• Experience negotiating significant commercial agreements and long-term supply contracts.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
• Willingness to undertake international travel, including regular visits to customers in Europe, North America and Mexico.
• An understanding of international trading protocols and rules.
