Buying Director

Drayton Partners are thrilled to be partnering with a high growth, digitally native ecommerce business in the appointment of a Buying Director. Joining the senior leadership team, you will own the end to end buying agenda, having a genuinely broad remit as the leading product role appointment in the business.

In this senior leadership role, responsibilities will include:

• Owning the end to end buying strategy, translating long term vision into clear category direction, range architecture and option level plans.
• Leading cross functional alignment across product, creative, commercial, supply chain and analytics to ensure clarity and consistent execution.
• Partnering closely with design to balance creative ambition with commercial and operational reality.
• Setting standards across quality, materials, margin and timelines, ensuring disciplined critical path delivery.
• Leading global supplier and sourcing strategy with accountability for quality, cost, scalability and delivery.
• Using data and insight to guide trading decisions and continuous product evolution across sales, margin, stock and customer sentiment.

Requirements for this role include:

• Significant senior level buying leadership experience within a direct to consumer ecommerce environment.
• Strong commercial acumen with confidence managing margin, performance and investment decisions.
• High level of data fluency, with the ability to translate insight into clear, actionable product decisions.
• Proven experience leading and developing cross functional product, buying and technical teams.

• Be a clear, confident communicator able to align senior stakeholders and teams.
• Operate calmly under pressure and make decisive, well informed decisions.
• Thrive in fast paced, high growth environments with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

This role will be based in London, with 3 days a week in office.
