About the OpportunityOptima are working with an established and successful UK business to recruit an experienced Sales Consultant to join their commercial team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven sales professional looking for a role where they can take ownership of their pipeline, build strong customer relationships and have a genuine impact on business growth.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business, attending customer meetings, identifying commercial opportunities and managing a portfolio of existing clients.

The business has a strong customer-focused culture and places significant value on developing long-term relationships rather than taking a purely transactional approach to sales.

The RoleAs a Sales Consultant, you will be responsible for managing opportunities from initial engagement through to close, whilst also developing and growing existing customer relationships.

You will benefit from a combination of internally generated appointments and your own business development activity, with the expectation that you will proactively build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Attending meetings with prospective and existing customers.
• Identifying new commercial opportunities and developing them through to completion.
• Generating your own leads and appointments through proactive business development.
• Developing and maintaining long-term relationships with customers and key decision-makers.
• Managing a portfolio of existing accounts and identifying opportunities for further growth.
• Understanding customer requirements and developing appropriate commercial solutions.
• Managing the full sales process from initial meeting through to proposal, negotiation and close.
• Preparing and presenting proposals to prospective customers.
• Working collaboratively with internal teams to ensure customer requirements are understood and opportunities are progressed effectively.
• Maintaining accurate records of customer activity, opportunities and pipeline progression.
• Ensuring appropriate follow-up activity is completed within agreed timescales.
• Working towards agreed sales, activity and profitability targets.
• Regularly reviewing pipeline, activity and performance with senior management.

The role will involve a mixture of office-based work in Slough and customer-facing activity, with regular travel to client locations.

About YouWe are looking for an experienced B2B sales professional who is confident managing customer relationships and taking ownership of the sales process.

You will ideally have:

• Proven experience in a B2B sales, business development or account management environment.
• A demonstrable track record of winning new business and achieving sales targets.
• Experience managing opportunities through a complete sales cycle.
• Strong prospecting and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation abilities.
• The confidence to engage with decision-makers at different levels of an organisation.
• A consultative and commercially focused approach to sales.
• Strong organisation and time-management skills.
• Experience using CRM systems and standard Microsoft Office applications.
• A proactive, self-motivated and target-driven approach.
• The resilience and determination required to succeed in a competitive sales environment.
• A valid right to work in the UK.
• The ability and willingness to travel to customer sites as required.

Experience within a solution-led B2B sales environment would be advantageous, although candidates from a range of relevant sectors will be considered.

The Package

• £35,000 - £40,000 basic salary
• OTE of £90,000+
