EA First is delighted to be partnering with a major international logistics business to recruit an experienced Financial Controller on a 15-month fixed-term contract .

Operating across logistics, infrastructure and supply chain solutions, the organisation helps businesses move goods efficiently between international markets through a combination of large-scale physical infrastructure, operational expertise and technology.

Reporting into senior finance leadership, the Financial Controller will take ownership of financial control and reporting across key UK operations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Overseeing financial control across revenue, operational costs, capital expenditure and cash flow.
• Ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting while maintaining strong accounting controls and processes.
• Supporting statutory accounts, VAT, CIS and other regulatory reporting requirements.
• Managing internal and external audit activity and ensuring compliance with UK and international accounting standards.
• Driving improvements across finance systems, cash forecasting and wider financial processes.
• Partnering with senior stakeholders to support business performance, planning and strategic objectives.
• Managing key banking relationships and supporting funding requirements.
• Leading, coaching and developing members of the Finance team while promoting a collaborative, high-performance culture.

The successful Financial Controller will be an experienced finance professional with a strong track record of operating within a complex commercial environment.

You will ideally demonstrate:

• A professional finance/accounting qualification , with a degree preferred.
• A proven track record within finance and financial control.
• Strong knowledge of UK and international accounting standards .
• Significant management experience combined with strong leadership capability.
• Experience managing multiple complex financial issues and competing priorities simultaneously.
• The ability to operate effectively under tight deadlines and time pressures.
• Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.

• Southampton-based , with travel to an Essex location approximately twice per month
