Fletcher George Recruitment is supporting a growing independent accountancy practice based in the Leatherhead area with the appointment of a Senior Accounting Manager. The firm advises a loyal and expanding client base of owner-managed businesses, SMEs and private individuals. It is known for its personal, relationship-led approach, strong client retention and low staff turnover. As part of its continued growth, the Partners are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Accounting Manager or Associate Director to play a key role in client delivery, team development and the future direction of the practice.

The Senior Accounting Manager Role

This is a broad, hands-on and client-facing role with genuine responsibility. You will work closely with the Partners, manage a varied client portfolio and act as a trusted adviser to business owners.

• Acting as the main point of contact for new client enquiries
• Managing the onboarding process and developing early client relationships
• Taking ownership of a portfolio of owner-managed businesses and SME clients
• Ensuring clients receive a consistently high level of service
• Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts under UK GAAP, including FRS 102 and FRS 105
• Preparing and reviewing corporation tax computations and returns
• Reviewing accounts work prepared by junior and semi-senior team members
• Providing guidance, mentoring and technical support to colleagues
• Advising clients on day-to- day accounting, tax and commercial matters
• Building strong, long-term relationships with clients and professional contacts
• Identifying opportunities to provide additional services and support the growth of the firm
• Working closely with the Partners on the strategic development and future direction of the practice

About You

The Partners are looking for an experienced accountancy practice professional who enjoys working closely with clients and colleagues and takes pride in delivering high-quality advice.

• ACA or ACCA qualified
• Currently working within a UK accountancy practice at Senior Manager, Senior Accounts Manager or Associate Director level
• Experienced in managing a portfolio of owner-managed businesses and SME clients
• Confident reviewing statutory accounts and corporation tax work
• Comfortable advising clients on practical accounting and commercial matters
• Experienced in reviewing work and supporting the development of junior staff
• Personable, professional and confident in your communication style
• Commercially aware and interested in helping to develop client relationships and grow the practice
• Looking for a long-term opportunity with progression to Director or Partner
• Based within commuting distance of Leatherhead, Surrey

Location

This Senior Accounting Manager position is based in the Leatherhead area and is commutable from Epsom, Guildford, Cobham, Esher, Dorking, Reigate, Weybridge, Woking and surrounding Surrey locations.
