Location

The practice is based near Durham with excellent access to Durham city centre and its cathedral, castle and university within a short drive. Newcastle upon Tyne is around 30 minutes away, Sunderland approximately 25 minutes, and Darlington roughly 35 minutes, making this an accessible option for candidates commuting from across the North East.

The Practice

Multi-site GMS practice operating from modern, purpose-built premises across the Durham area. Mid-sized practice with a settled, longstanding patient population. Large, well-established salaried GP team, supported by an extensive in-house clinical pharmacy service that handles the majority of clinical administration. Genuine investment in team culture, with regular whole-team meetings bringing together GPs, advanced practitioners, nurses and pharmacy staff. Involved in teaching medical, pharmacy and nursing students, with scope to get involved in GP training.

Your Role

• Flexible sessions available, from part-time up to a full complement, to suit your preferred working pattern
• One core day fixed each week, with flexibility on the remaining days
• Standard 25 patient contacts per session, excluding home visits, with a choice of 10 or 15-minute appointments
• Mixture of face-to-face and telephone consultations
• Home visits kept deliberately low but with time protected for when they are needed
• Newly qualified GPs welcomed and fully supported
• An interest in women's health would be well received, though not essential
