CPXR is recruiting for a Buyer to join an established civil engineering and groundworks subcontractor based in Folkestone. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Buyer looking to take on greater responsibility within a busy procurement environment. You'll be responsible for sourcing materials, managing suppliers and supporting the commercial and operational teams across a range of civil engineering projects. THE ROLE
Source and procure materials, plant and subcontract services
Obtain and negotiate competitive quotations from suppliers
Manage supplier relationships and maintain an effective supply chain
Place and manage purchase orders in line with project requirements
Monitor costs, lead times and material availability
Work closely with Quantity Surveyors, Estimators and Site Teams
Identify opportunities for cost savings and value engineering
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
Experience as a Buyer, Assistant Buyer or Procurement Buyer
Background within civil engineering, groundworks or construction
Experience procuring construction materials and subcontract services
Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
Commercially aware with excellent organisational skills
Confident communicating with suppliers and internal teams
Knowledge of construction procurement processes
