Senior Software Developer

Are you an experienced Software Developer passionate about collaborative development and fostering growth in others? A dynamic company in Bath is looking for a Senior Software Developer to join their innovative team.

Their Culture:

They thrive on a close-knit, fun, and technology-driven environment. Their development approach emphasizes collective effort, with all team members actively participating in pair programming, white-boarding sessions, and architectural discussions. Every line of code is peer-reviewed to ensure the highest quality. They operate with an agile mindset, utilizing the Scrum framework to deliver continuous value to their customers.

Their flat hierarchy empowers individuals and promotes shared responsibility. They believe in assisting each other rather than micromanaging, fostering a supportive atmosphere where ideas flow freely. Their team seamlessly integrates with product owners to prepare sprint work, collaborates with account managers for optimal customer experience, and partners with operations to ensure stable and high-performing applications.

What They’re Looking For:

While their current stack includes PHP, Slim Framework, JavaScript, React, and MySQL, they’re primarily interested in candidates with commercial experience in modern programming languages and a strong grasp of software development principles.

Demonstrable experience with MVC frameworks and/or modern JavaScript frameworks is essential.

Beyond specific technologies, they highly value (and encourage learning in) the following areas:

• Accessibility best practices and standards for front-end development
• Testing frameworks
• Software design best practices
• Source control, specifically Git

They seek individuals who will:

• Exhibit genuine passion for both their mission and the technologies they employ.
• Enjoy close collaboration with technical and non-technical colleagues alike.
• Be comfortable with the practices of pair programming and comprehensive code reviews.
• Possess a proactive and positive approach to problem-solving within their team and across the organization.
• Show a strong desire to continuously learn and, crucially, to contribute to the development and mentorship of other developers.
• Embrace working through complex challenges collectively as part of a team.
