Location: Sunbury-on-Thames

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

Finance Manager - Construction

An established construction business based in Sunbury-on-Thames is looking to recruit an experienced Finance Manager to oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the company.

This is an office-based role suited to someone with a strong background in construction finance who is confident managing company accounts, ensuring compliance, and providing accurate financial reporting. Experience using Xero is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day finance function.
Oversee sales and purchase ledger activities.
Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
Manage cash flow and company budgets.
Process and reconcile bank accounts.
Administer CIS returns and ensure compliance.
Prepare and submit VAT returns.
Manage payroll liaison where required.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
Assist with year-end accounts and liaise with external accountants.
Monitor company expenditure and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Ensure financial records are maintained accurately and in line with current legislation.

Requirements

Previous experience as a Finance Manager or Senior Finance professional.
Construction industry experience is essential.
Strong working knowledge of CIS and VAT.
Proficient in Xero accounting software.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Strong communication skills with the ability to work across all levels of the business.
Self-motivated and able to manage workloads independently.
