This position is for a Children’s Home Lead who will have overall responsibility of a small Children’s Home.

NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services; or equivalent

Overview

Cornerways Homes is seeking an experienced and motivated Children’s Home Lead to join our residential childcare service. This is a key leadership role within a small EBD children’s home, focused on delivering high-quality, trauma-informed care and achieving strong outcomes for young people.

We operate small homes with a strong emphasis on safeguarding, consistency and professional development. As Children’s Home Lead, you will support the Registered Manager in leading the team, maintaining compliance, and driving continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

As Children’s Home Lead, you will:

Support the leadership and day-to-day management of a residential children’s home
Promote safeguarding and therapeutic practice
Supervise and support staff development
Maintain compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations & Quality Standards 2015
Monitor quality and implement improvement plans
Support rota management and operational systems
Work collaboratively with Local Authorities, families and external professionals
Contribute to a positive, reflective and child-centred culture

You will help create a structured and nurturing environment where both young people and staff can thrive.

Qualifications

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (England)
Commitment to ongoing professional development

Experience

Significant experience within residential children’s care
Experience at senior or supervisory level
Strong safeguarding and risk management experience
Experience supervising or mentoring staff
Experience contributing to care planning and placement stability
Multi-agency working experience
Trauma-informed and attachment-based approaches
Safeguarding legislation and child protection
Children’s Homes Regulations & Quality Standards
Equality, diversity and children’s rights
