Duties

Business Development Manager — Roofing & Building Materials

Hours: 37.5 a week

Salary: £36000 a year

• Win new business across contractors, builders, developers and merchants
• Manage and grow existing trade accounts
• Work from our warehouse advising customers, handling enquiries and helping with orders
• Support the trade counter and walk-in customers with product knowledge and quotes
• Hit and exceed sales and margin targets
• Spot new opportunities in fresh sectors and territories
• Work closely with the estimating and supply teams to turn leads into orders

What we’re looking for

Confident, personable communicator who enjoys dealing with customers

Some B2B sales, customer service or construction/merchant experience is helpful — but graduates are welcome and full training is given

A genuine interest in building a career in sales and the construction trade

Well-organised and self-motivated

• Experience
• Proven track record in business development or sales within the roofing or building materials industry.
• Strong familiarity with CRM platforms such as Salesforce and other CRM software for managing client relationships and sales pipelines.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to engage diverse stakeholders effectively.
• Ability to analyze market data and translate insights into actionable sales strategies.
• Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets through proactive outreach and relationship management.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment with a focus on strategic growth initiatives is preferred.
• A proactive mindset with high energy levels, capable of working independently while collaborating across teams.
