The role

We are looking for ourFounding Sales Lead ,an entrepreneurial and commercial heavyweight ready to drive our revenue growth from the bottom up.

As a founding sales hire,you will actively helpwrite the sales playbook . If you are energised by a fast-paced environment, forging deep customer relationships, and the chance to shape a nascent and burgeoning market, this will be a career-defining role.

We are looking for an experienced sales generalist : comfortable running outbound prospecting to build your own pipeline from scratch, and able to carry those conversations all the way through discovery, demo, negotiation, and close.

The job is remote-first, with semi-regular co-location in London.

What you'll do

• Build and run your own outbound pipeline: cold outreach, warm network intros, industry events and dinners; targeting CISOs, CTOs, and IT and security leaders at mid-market to enterprise companies (500+ FTE, UK/EU initial focus).
• Help define what \"good\" looks like for Bosun sales: from ICP and messaging to CRM hygiene, repeatable outbound sequencing, and forecasting.
• Own deals end-to-end: discovery, demo, commercial negotiation, and close, on high-stakes deals typically £100k+ ACV.
• Navigate multi-stakeholder enterprise buying committees: which include detailed security, compliance and technical reviews.
• Shape the GTM playbook: Work closely with our CEO and CoS to test new messaging, refine our outbound strategies, and relay direct market feedback to help steer the product roadmap.
• Wear multiple hats: In an early-stage startup with limited capacity, we need someone who is happy to get stuck in even beyond the realms of their official job title. You’ll occasionally be required to step up to support onboarding, attend industry events, or build customer success frameworks to ensure our early users are obsessed with Bosun.

What we're looking for

• 4+ years of B2B sales experience , including real time carrying a quota as an AE or SDR/BDR - you've prospected, pitched, and closed yourself.
• A track record of hitting or beating targets , without fully-built playbook handed to you.
• Sharp communication : you can hold a technical conversation with a security team and a commercial one with the budget-holder in the same week.
• Comfort being both the person generating the pipeline and the person closing it.
• Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward building process, not waiting for one.
• (Bonus) Experience selling security, compliance, or IT-governance products, or otherwise selling into CISOs/CTOs and security teams.
• (Bonus) Early-stage startup experience, ideally where you helped stand up the sales function rather than just work within one.

This role isn't for you if...

• You want a fully-built outbound engine and a script to run - we're building both as we go.
• You only want to prospect, or only want to close.
• You need a lot of structure before you can move.
