Senior Associate – Projects (Oil & Gas / Energy Transition)

London | Permanent | 4+ PQE

An opportunity has arisen for a talented Senior Associate to join a highly ranked Projects practice in London. This is a rare chance to work on headline‑making transactions across the UK and internationally, with a focus on oil & gas, LNG, and emerging energy transition technologies.

The Role

You’ll advise major energy companies, trading houses, financiers, governments, and new market entrants on strategic, high‑value transactions . The work is broad and diverse, spanning:

• M&A, project development, and financing in the oil & gas sector
• LNG, refining, and mid/downstream matters
• Energy transition projects (hydrogen, carbon capture, sustainable aviation fuel)
• Cross‑border work, particularly in the Middle East, Africa, and Central Asia

This role is suited to a lawyer with strong transactional experience , a sharp commercial mindset , and the confidence to take on new contractual challenges. You’ll be client‑facing from day one, with the opportunity to develop your own client base and a clear pathway to Counsel or Partner .

About You

• 4+ PQE with a strong track record in transactional/project work
• Oil & gas experience (M&A, project development, financing and/or trading)
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and project management skills
• Commercially aware, with strong problem‑solving instincts
• Proactive in client relationship building and business development
