Are you an experienced operational leader with a strong commercial background in street lighting, highways or infrastructure? We are recruiting for an experienced General Manager to lead the delivery of a major Street Lighting Term Service Contract across Suffolk. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a high-profile contract, leading operational delivery while driving commercial performance, client satisfaction, safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the operational delivery of maintenance, capital works and third-party projects.
• Take full responsibility for contract performance, budgets, forecasting and P&L.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with the local authority client and key stakeholders.
• Ensure KPIs, service levels and contractual obligations are consistently achieved.
• Lead, motivate and develop managers, supervisors and operational teams.
• Promote a strong health, safety, environmental and quality culture.
• Drive continuous improvement, innovation and operational efficiencies.
• Produce financial and operational performance reports.
• Support future business growth through client engagement and tender support.

About You

• Significant experience managing street lighting, highways, utilities or infrastructure contracts.
• Proven experience with contract P&L management and commercial responsibility.
• Experience working with local authority or public sector clients.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams.
• A proactive approach to health, safety and continuous improvement.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Word.

Essential Requirements

• SMSTS (or equivalent)
• Relevant CSCS Card
• Full UK Driving Licence
