We are recruiting a driven, goal oriented, influential Business Development Lead for our Cancer Centre of Excellence within The Harley Street…
London, The Portland Hospital
Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week, with some flexibility required
Permanent
Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum
We’re looking for an Estates Manager to join our Facilities and Estates team at The Portland Hospital in London.
This is a pivotal role within a highly specialist hospital environment, where safety, reliability and operational excellence are essential to delivering exceptional patient care. The team is responsible for maintaining the hospital’s infrastructure, plant and critical systems, ensuring everything runs seamlessly and supports a safe, compliant and well‑maintained environment for patients, visitors and colleagues.
This role offers the opportunity to lead within a complex and fast‑paced healthcare setting. As Estates Manager, you’ll shape the direction of the Estates and Engineering function while overseeing day‑to‑day operations. From managing a 24‑hour engineering service to delivering capital projects up to £3 million, your work will directly support the hospital’s resilience and long‑term sustainability.
You’ll also act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, identifying risks, addressing system deficiencies and contributing to future infrastructure planning.
Above all else, we’re committed to the care and improvement of human life. It’s this guiding vision that influences everything we do at HCA UK. From the CEO to the colleagues on the floor we all have a part to play in delivering exceptional care to our patients. Others may think this is just a role in Facilities and Estates, but to us, you’ll be part of a wider team with a unique sense of purpose, one that helps improve lives on a daily basis.
Originally founded over 50 years ago by Dr Thomas Frist, HCA has gone on to become one of the world’s leading healthcare providers. In the UK, we’re one of the largest providers of privately funded healthcare, with significant investment in facilities, technology and innovation. Being part of a large, established healthcare group means you’ll have access to structured development, leadership opportunities and the chance to work across a diverse estate portfolio.
At HCA UK we believe exceptional care starts with our people. We celebrate the unique perspectives and different experiences each of us bring, as we know that when you feel seen, heard and supported, you can be at your best for our patients and each other.
Our mission is simple: above all else, we’re committed to the care and improvement of human life, a clear statement that extends to both our patients and colleagues. To achieve this, we live and breathe four core values:
We believe everyone should feel comfortable to bring their full self to work and be afforded the same opportunities. As a Disability Confident committed organisation, we’re happy to discuss flexible working arrangements to suit your needs, as well as offer reasonable adjustments throughout our recruitment process and in the workplace to anyone that needs them.
