This role sits at the heart of the organisation and plays a critical role in partnering with senior commercial leaders to drive profitable growth and strategic decision‑making. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to executive and commercial teams, translating financial insight into clear actions that enhance business performance.
Key Responsibilities for the successful Commercial Finance Manager:
Partner closely with senior commercial leaders and executive stakeholders to support strategic decision‑making.
Provide financial insight and challenge to drive revenue growth, margin optimisation, and cost efficiency.
Translate financial performance into clear commercial actions for non‑finance stakeholders.
Build strong relationships across sales, marketing, operations, and product teams.
Lead financial analysis on trading performance, identifying risks and opportunities.
Deliver regular commercial performance reporting, including revenue, margin, pricing, and promotional analysis.
Develop and maintain financial models to support commercial initiatives and investment decisions.
Analyse customer, product, and channel profitability.
Work with stakeholders to ensure forecasts reflect the latest market and commercial insights.
Support major commercial initiatives such as: Pricing strategy, Promotional effectiveness, New product launches, Channel expansion, Investment cases.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications of the successful Commercial Finance Manager:
Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
Experience within consumer sectors would be advantageous but not essential.
Excellent financial modelling and analytical skills.
Proven ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders.
Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex financial insights.
