Counsellor Required: Wrexham, Wales

About Nightingale House Hospice We are an ambitious organisation providing specialist palliative care services, completely free-of-charge, to patients and their families across a wide area stretching from Wrexham, Flintshire, and East Denbighshire to Barmouth and the border towns including Oswestry and Whitchurch. It costs £5.6m per year to run the Hospice, with only 20% of our funding provided by the government. Over 400 volunteers give their time to the Hospice helping us run efficiently and effectively as part of the local community.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Counsellor to join our Family Support Team on a permanent basis. The role will deliver bereavement support and counselling to adults and children referred to Nightingale House. The support will reflect the compassion, integrity and values of Hospice care.

Key Responsibilities

• To work as a full member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team, providing preparation for loss and bereavement service to Adults, Children, and carers.
• Provide bereavement support and counselling to clients who access the service, in the community and within the hospice, who are individuals, families or through group support techniques, and involving other members of the multi-disciplinary team as appropriate to do so.
• Supervision of counsellors, student counsellors and bereavement volunteers.
• Jointly managing service evaluation tools, statistics, audit within the service and provide regular reports.
• Communicating frequently within the service and to other service providers regarding patient care and share development policies ensuring best practice.
