Veterinary Surgeon - Fantastic London Location

Join the Team at a Thriving GP Vet Role in the Heart of South London

Nestled in the vibrant and culturally rich area of Brixton, London—home to the iconic Ritzy Cinema and one of the city's best food markets—this established practice has been a cornerstone of the community for over 20 years. This established practice is now seeking a confident and dedicated GP vet ready to make a lasting impact.

Why This Role Stands Out

Imagine a role where you can truly settle in, build strong relationships with a close-knit client base, and perform first opinion consultations and routine surgeries. This position offers a balanced work‑life schedule with a 4‑day week (Thursdays off), a 1:4 branch Saturday rotation, and a 1:10 hospital Sunday rotation. Plus, there are no on‑call requirements, ensuring you have time to enjoy everything Brixton has to offer.

Your New Team and Support System

You will work alongside a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) and a fantastic trainee nurse who knows the practice inside‑out. Additional support is readily available from their nearby branches, offering ultrasound facilities. For complex cases, their 24‑hour Hospital is just a referral away.

Leadership and Professional Growth

As a sole charge branch vet, you will receive leadership training and work closely with your RVN to ensure the practice runs smoothly. You will also be supported by a regional manager and a regional head vet for any clinical management needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough consultations and make evidence‑based treatment recommendations.
• Perform surgeries within your competence and manage overnight care limitations.
• Prescribe and dispense medications in line with current legislation and RCVS guidance.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical notes.
• Refer cases to a GVG Hospital when necessary.
• Foster a respectful and collaborative team environment.
• Oversee the consulting and surgical/diagnostic diary in compliance with company policies.

Convenient Location

The practice is conveniently situated between Streatham Hill and Brixton stations, just a 20‑minute walk or a 5‑minute cycle away.

What’s in It for You?

• Competitive salary ranging from £60,000 to £75,000 (FTE), depending on experience.
• 6.6 weeks of annual leave, including bank holidays.
• Generous relocation assistance (where applicable).
• Up to £2,000 CPD budget per year, plus up to 5 days' paid CPD leave.
• Private Medical Healthcare Insurance with Bupa.
• Visa Sponsorship
