Assistant Syndicate Accountant opportunity with a leading specialty insurer. This role sits within the Syndicate Finance function of a London-based insurance organisation operating in the specialty market. The position supports senior finance professionals in delivering Lloyd’s and group reporting to meet regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Support the preparation of core regulatory returns in line with Lloyd’s reporting standards and deadlines
Assist with ancillary submissions to relevant regulatory bodies
Oversee the offshore finance operations team, ensuring robust balance sheet controls and accurate bookkeeping
Review and sign off key reconciliations to audit standards, escalating issues as needed
Maintain trial balances, including investment and cash asset processes
Contribute to the maintenance and testing of internal controls for group reporting (e.g., SOX compliance)
Identify and implement process improvements through feedback and collaboration
Liaise with external auditors, providing requested data and responses
