We are seeking a talented banking and finance lawyer to join our market-leading team in Manchester advising major UK banks (including Lloyds, RBS, HSBC, Santander) and alternative lenders (such as ThinCats, OakNorth, Beechbrook Capital).
Role highlights
Advise clients on legal aspects of banking contracts and arrangements, including acquisition finance, property finance, asset-based lending, restructuring, and refinancing.
Draft and negotiate facility agreements (bilateral and syndicated) and other key documentation.
Lead and support banking transactions, attend client meetings, project manage deals, supervise junior team members, and coordinate with overseas lawyers.
Develop business by building relationships with key bankers in Manchester and supporting marketing efforts across the North West, Nottingham, Birmingham, and London.
What we’re looking for
Solid knowledge of banking law and relevant finance areas.
Strong drafting, negotiation, and project management skills.
Commercial mindset with a focus on client needs and solutions.
Interest in financial sector developments and legal updates.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to master complex contracts.
Team player with initiative, able to supervise and delegate.
Good IT skills and familiarity with online research tools.
