Our Client:

A fast growing insurance business is seeking an experienced corporate Lawyer (9+ PQE) to be the Head of Corporate Legal reporting to the CEO and working with the C-suite level in a strategic role.

This is a senior position that offers considerable scope for progression into a General Counsel/ Chief Legal Officer position within 12-18 months for the right candidate.

This highly regarded institution operates on a global scale and is looking to scale up their business significantly in the next few years, making it an exciting time to join.

Key Responsibilities:

As the Head for Corporate Legal, your responsibilities will include:

• Lead and manage the corporate legal function, providing expert advice on corporate law matters including company structuring, governance, and regulatory obligations.
• Advise senior leadership on legal aspects of strategic initiatives, including joint ventures, acquisitions, capital raising, and corporate reorganisations.
• Oversee legal support for board and shareholder matters, including drafting resolutions, managing filings, and ensuring compliance with statutory obligations.
• Act as a key liaison with external counsel, regulators, and internal stakeholders on corporate legal issues.
• Support the development and implementation of corporate policies and procedures aligned with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations, assessing impact and advising the business accordingly.

Qualifications & Experience:

• 10 years'+ PQE as a corporate/M&A lawyer in private practice or in-house in an insurance legal team.*
• Proven ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills, with a sharp eye for detail.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• A commercial mindset, focused on delivering pragmatic, business-oriented legal solutions.

*Candidates with relevant experience outside the PQE bracket are also encouraged to apply.
