We are excited to be hiring an Alternative Provision Attendance Monitoring Officer to join our fantastic Alternative Provision and Participation team.
There are two permanent positions available, one will be based in the East at Woodhatch Place, Reigate and one will be based in the West at Victoria Gate, Woking. You will be able to express your preference during the application process.

Our Offer to You

As part of Surrey County Council's Alternative Provision and Participation Team, you will play a key role in strengthening our oversight of attendance for children and young people accessing Alternative Provision and other education arrangements. Working across the Children, Families and Lifelong Learning (CFLL) directorate, you will use attendance data, professional curiosity, and strong partnership working to identify emerging concerns, support information sharing, and contribute to improved outcomes for some of Surrey's most vulnerable learners.
This is a unique opportunity to combine analytical skills with a genuine commitment to improving children's outcomes. By ensuring attendance concerns are identified at the earliest opportunity, you will help support effective decision-making, multi-agency planning, and access to education for children who may be at risk of missing out.
Your key responsibilities as an Alternative Provision Attendance Monitoring Officer will include:
If you're passionate about improving educational outcomes, enjoy working with data to drive meaningful action, and thrive in a collaborative environment, we'd love to hear from you. Join us and help ensure every child has the opportunity to access and engage in education.

Local Government Reorganisation (LGR)
Surrey County Council is undergoing Local Government Reorganisation and will move to new authorities in April 2027. This role is currently employed by Surrey County Council and will remain so until then. If you are employed by Surrey County Council on 1 April 2027, your employment will transfer under TUPE arrangements to one of the new councils, with your current terms and conditions protected. The provisional allocation for these posts are in East and West Surrey, subject to final confirmation through the wider transition process later this year.
Our Commitment
We are a disability confident employer which means if you have shared a disability on your application form and have evidenced you meet the minimum shortlisting criteria as displayed on the advert, we guarantee you an interview.
