The Opportunity

Are you an experienced Plant Fitter, Mobile Plant Engineer or Construction Plant Mechanic looking for your next opportunity?

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a skilled Mobile & Workshop Plant Fitter to join their team, maintaining and repairing a large fleet of construction equipment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer with experience working on plant machinery who enjoys fault-finding, carrying out repairs and keeping essential equipment operating efficiently.

The Role

As a Mobile & Workshop Plant Fitter, you will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing and repair of a varied fleet of construction plant machinery, working across both mobile and workshop-based environments.

The fleet includes:

• Excavators ranging from 800kg to 14 tonnes
• Dumpers, including tracked dumpers and machines up to 9 tonnes
• Telehandlers
• Rollers
• Other construction plant and equipment

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned maintenance and servicing of construction plant machinery
• Diagnose faults and undertake mechanical repairs
• Identify and resolve equipment breakdowns efficiently
• Maintain machinery to ensure it operates safely and reliably
• Work on a varied fleet of plant equipment, both in the workshop and in mobile settings
• Help minimise equipment downtime through effective maintenance and repair work

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience as a Plant Fitter, Plant Mechanic, Mobile Plant Engineer or similar
• Experience maintaining and repairing construction plant machinery
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• A practical, hands-on approach to maintenance and repairs
• The ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively
• A strong commitment to health, safety and maintaining equipment to a high standard
