Regional Sales Representative - Automotive Aftermarket

Our client is a leading provider of data, software and information services to the automotive industry and forms part of a global organisation with a long-established reputation for success in the automotive aftermarket. They are looking to appoint a Regional Sales Representative to drive new customer acquisition throughout the Southeast region.

This is a genuine new business sales opportunity for a commercially driven automotive aftermarket professional. You'll spend the majority of your time identifying and winning new garage and workshop customers, demonstrating industry-leading solutions and growing market share across your territory. Location: Field-based across Southeast England

Applicants will ideally be based within Essex, Kent or East Anglia, with locations such as Chelmsford, Brentwood, Basildon, Southend-on-Sea, Colchester, Maidstone, Dartford, Tonbridge, Ashford, Canterbury, Ipswich, Cambridge and surrounding areas being particularly well suited to the territory.

What You'll Need

• Proven success in a field sales, territory sales or business development role .
• Experience within the automotive aftermarket is essential .
• Strong understanding of the independent garage, workshop, vehicle repair or bodyshop sector.
• A track record of generating new business opportunities and winning new customers.
• Confidence in prospecting, cold calling, territory planning and self-generating appointments.
• Experience selling automotive products, services, software, diagnostics, workshop solutions or related technologies would be highly advantageous.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage business owners, workshop managers and technicians.
• Comfortable conducting product demonstrations using a laptop and Microsoft Office applications.
• Highly self-motivated, resilient and target-driven with the ability to work independently.

What You'll Be Doing

• New business acquisition will be your primary focus , identifying, prospecting and winning new garage and workshop customers throughout your territory.
• Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline through proactive prospecting, networking, customer referrals and territory management.
• Maximise opportunities generated through marketing activities whilst taking ownership of your own lead generation strategy.
• Conduct product demonstrations and present the commercial benefits of the solution to prospective customers.
• Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact through to customer sign-up and onboarding.
• Develop relationships with independent garages, workshop groups, service and repair centres, MOT stations and vehicle repair specialists.
• Maintain accurate records, sales activity and opportunities within the CRM system (Microsoft Dynamics).
• Attend automotive industry events and trade shows, leveraging your aftermarket knowledge to generate and convert opportunities.
• Collaborate with marketing, customer support and wider sales teams to maximise customer success and market penetration.
• Consistently achieve and exceed individual sales and business growth targets.

The Ideal Candidate

You are a genuine sales hunter with a passion for winning new business and a strong understanding of the automotive aftermarket. You enjoy being in front of customers, opening new accounts and building long-term commercial relationships. Whether your background is in diagnostics, workshop equipment, automotive software, motor factors, technical sales, fleet solutions or automotive services, you'll understand the challenges faced by modern workshops and be able to communicate value effectively.
