This newly created position offers the opportunity to lead a close-knit team, take ownership of important customer accounts and shape a more proactive, commercially focused approach to customer service.
You'll join a collaborative, hands-on environment where people are valued, ideas are welcomed and building long-term customer partnerships is central to success.
The Opportunity: As a Customer Service Manager , you'll play a key role in:

• Leading and developing a team: Coach, support and motivate an established customer service team, creating clear expectations and helping individuals build confidence, capability and commercial awareness.
• Managing key accounts: Take ownership of key customer relationships, acting as a trusted point of contact, understanding their ongoing requirements and ensuring they receive a consistently high standard of service.
• Developing existing customer accounts: Build strong, lasting B2B relationships through proactive account management, regular customer engagement and identifying opportunities to strengthen partnerships and grow account value.
• Delivering excellent customer service: Work alongside your team to manage customer enquiries, quotations, orders and equipment hire requirements, ensuring a responsive and reliable service.
• Improving processes and performance: Introduce practical improvements, establish consistent service standards and work collaboratively with operational, transport and finance colleagues to deliver on customer commitments.

Your work will directly contribute to stronger customer retention, increased account development opportunities, a more commercially aware customer service team and continued business growth.
This is a genuinely hands-on leadership opportunity, combining people management, operational customer service and key account management. It's ideal for someone who enjoys developing customer relationships as much as developing their team.
About You: We're looking for someone who can bring:

• Proven account management experience: Previous experience managing and developing B2B customer accounts is essential, including building long-term relationships, understanding customer needs and identifying opportunities for account growth.
• Key account relationship management: Confidence in managing important customer relationships, handling customer expectations and acting as a trusted partner to support customer retention and satisfaction.
• People leadership experience: A proven ability to lead, coach and develop a customer-facing team, with the confidence to introduce positive change and support different working styles.
• A strong customer service background: Experience delivering excellent service within a B2B, operational, technical or product-led environment.
• Commercial awareness: The ability to recognise opportunities to develop existing accounts, increase customer engagement and recommend relevant products or services through a consultative, relationship-led approach.
• Communication and organisational skills: A collaborative approach, sound judgement and the ability to balance customer account responsibilities, team leadership and operational priorities.

Experience within equipment hire, construction, engineering, manufacturing or a similar sector would be advantageous, but isn't essential. We're equally interested in hearing from people with transferable B2B account management and leadership experience.
You'll be approachable, proactive and commercially minded, with a genuine interest in building customer relationships and supporting your team to succeed.
While previous account management experience is important for this position, you don't need to meet every desirable requirement to be considered.
