SOX & Controls - AVP

Working pattern: Hybrid
Salary rage: 65,000-90,000

We are partnered with a financial services company who are looking for a SOX & Controls AVP to join their London office.

The role

• Perform walkthroughs and assess the design and operating effectiveness of key controls .
• Deliver SOX testing across financial and operational processes in line with agreed methodology.
• Review control documentation, supporting evidence and Risk & Control Matrices.
• Identify control deficiencies and work with control owners to understand root causes and support remediation.
• Track remediation actions and assess whether issues have been addressed effectively.
• Work across areas including Finance, Operations, Risk and the wider business to understand end-to-end processes and associated controls.
• Support improvements to testing approaches, control documentation and the wider SOX framework.
• Work with senior members of the team, Internal Audit and external auditors throughout the annual SOX cycle.
• Contribute to wider controls and transformation initiatives as the function continues to develop.

What we're looking for

• Experience within Financial Services , either in-house or through audit/advisory work with Financial Services clients.
• Practical experience across SOX, internal controls, controls assurance or external audit .
• Experience conducting walkthroughs and testing design and operating effectiveness .
• Understanding of financial statements, balance sheets and core Finance processes.
• Experience identifying control deficiencies and supporting remediation.
• Exposure to SOX testing methodology, control documentation and RCMs.
• Qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) .
• Big Four or practice backgrounds are welcomed where there is strong banking or Financial Services exposure .
