Art Technician

Art Technician - Secondary School - Watford

Pay: 94.06 per day
Hours: 37 hours per week, term time plus INSET days
Start: Immediately

Prospero Teaching is recruiting an Art Technician for a secondary school in Watford. This is a practical role supporting the Art department, preparing resources and helping students get the most from their lessons.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing materials and equipment for Art lessons, including printmaking and ceramics.
• Supporting practical demonstrations and GCSE and A-Level students.
• Preparing and recycling clay, loading and unloading the kiln.
• Keeping equipment, classrooms and storage areas safe and organised.
• Monitoring stock and ordering supplies.
• Preparing displays, exhibitions and photographing students' work.

We're looking for someone organised, reliable and confident working with young people, with:

• At least 6 months' experience working in a school.
• GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or above, or equivalent.
• Practical knowledge of art materials, equipment and safe working procedures.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work independently.

Experience with ceramics and kilns would be particularly useful.

Appointment is subject to enhanced DBS and satisfactory safeguarding checks.
