School Cleaner and Kitchen Assistant

Job Vacancy: School Cleaner & Kitchen Assistant

Location: Saltburn | Monday-Friday | Split Shifts

Empowering Learning Group are working in partnership with a school in Saltburn and are looking for a reliable, hardworking and flexible Cleaner & Kitchen Assistant to join their team.

This is a great opportunity for someone local to Saltburn who has previous cleaning and kitchen experience and is looking for work within a school environment.

Working Hours

The role involves split shifts throughout the day, Monday to Friday:

• Cleaning: 6:00am - 8:15am
• Kitchen Assistant: 11:00am - 1:00pm
• Cleaning: 3:00pm - 5:15pm

Total hours: 6.5 hours per day (32.5 hours per week).

Role Responsibilities

Cleaner

• Clean classrooms, corridors, toilets and other school areas to a high standard.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum and wipe down surfaces.
• Empty bins and ensure the school environment remains clean, safe and hygienic.
• Follow cleaning procedures and health and safety guidelines.

Kitchen Assistant

• Assist with basic food preparation and serving meals to pupils.
• Help with washing up, cleaning kitchen surfaces and keeping the kitchen tidy.
• Support the kitchen team with food storage and general kitchen duties.
• Follow food hygiene, health and safety procedures at all times.

The Ideal Candidate

• Has previous cleaning and kitchen experience.
• Is reliable, punctual and hardworking, with a positive attitude.
• Is local to Saltburn or able to travel reliably to the school.
• Can commit to all the advertised hours, Monday to Friday.
• Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service , or is willing to apply and pay for a new one.
• Can provide professional references covering the last two years.
