Platinum Recruitment is working in partnership with a prestigious wedding and events venue set within a stunning country estate on the North Welsh border. We are seeking an experienced and creative Head Chef to lead the kitchen team and deliver exceptional food across weddings, private events and guest dining.

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented chef with multiple AA Rosette experience to take ownership of an ambitious culinary offering, develop innovative seasonal menus and lead a passionate team in a beautiful setting.

What's involved?

As Head Chef, you'll take full responsibility for the kitchen operation, leading the team to deliver outstanding food across a varied programme of weddings, private events and guest dining.

You'll have the opportunity to shape the culinary direction of the venue, combining creative flair with strong commercial awareness to deliver memorable dining experiences while maintaining exceptional standards of quality and consistency.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading, inspiring and developing the kitchen team to deliver consistently high standards
• Creating and evolving seasonal, bespoke menus that reflect your culinary creativity and expertise
• Maintaining a multiple AA Rosette standard across all food offerings
• Overseeing weddings and large-scale events catering for up to 160 guests, ensuring quality and consistency at every service
• Delivering exceptional guest breakfasts using fresh, seasonal ingredients
• Championing a from-scratch approach, including house-made breads, preserves, sauces and other elements
• Working with seasonal and locally sourced produce to create distinctive menus
• Managing food costs, budgets, stock control and supplier relationships
• Recruiting, training and mentoring chefs to build a motivated and professional brigade
• Ensuring all food safety, hygiene and HACCP procedures are followed
• Working closely with the wider management team to deliver seamless events and outstanding guest experiences
• Building a positive, ego-free kitchen culture that values teamwork, innovation and continuous improvement

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef within a multiple AA Rosette or similarly high-end kitchen
• A strong background in fine dining, weddings, banqueting and large-scale events
• Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, develop and retain a kitchen team
• A creative approach to menu development, with a passion for seasonal and locally sourced ingredients
• Strong technical skills across butchery, pastry and vegetarian/vegan menu development
• Commercial awareness and experience managing food costs, budgets and stock control
• A commitment to cooking from scratch and delivering exceptional quality
• The ability to remain organised and maintain high standards in a fast-paced, varied environment
• A professional, collaborative attitude and a genuine passion for hospitality
