Lead Landmark Projects for a Respected Tier 1 Contractor

Burnley Town Hall. Heritage regeneration schemes. Major new-build residential developments.

If you're an experienced Project Manager looking to deliver prestigious projects with a leading Tier 1 main contractor, this is an opportunity to join a business with a strong pipeline of secured work, an excellent reputation for quality delivery, and genuine long-term career prospects.

Due to planned retirements within the existing team and a growing workload across the North West, we're looking to appoint either a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager who can take ownership of complex construction projects from pre-construction through to handover.

This is a role for an experienced construction professional who thrives in a client-facing environment, enjoys leading teams, and wants to work on projects that leave a lasting impact on local communities.

The Role

You'll be responsible for leading construction projects across the North West, managing all aspects of delivery including programme, quality, health & safety, commercial performance, client relationships and team management.

Current and upcoming projects include:

• Heritage refurbishment project in Bolton
• Burnley Town Hall refurbishment
• New-build residential development in Stockport
• Further commercial and heritage projects across the region

The role is primarily office-based with regular site visits, so flexibility to travel is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover.
• Manage project teams, subcontractors and supply chain partners.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
• Develop and monitor construction programmes.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and challenges.
• Work closely with commercial, technical, pre-construction and HSEQ teams.
• Build strong relationships with clients, consultants and stakeholders.
• Present progress updates to senior management and clients.
• Support and develop site-based delivery teams.

About You

We're keen to speak with experienced Project Managers and Senior Project Managers who have built their careers within reputable main contractors.

You'll ideally have:

• Proven experience delivering new-build construction projects.
• Previous Project Manager or Senior Project Manager experience with a main contractor.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies and project delivery.
• Commercial and contractual awareness.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• A stable employment history demonstrating long-term commitment and progression.
• Flexibility to travel across the North West when required.

Please note: This opportunity is best suited to candidates from Tier 1 or established regional main contractors. Experience gained solely within subcontracting, fit-out or housebuilding environments is unlikely to be suitable.

Salary

Project Manager £68,000 - £75,000

Senior Project Manager £80,000 - £95,000

Salary will be dependent upon experience, track record and level of responsibility.

Why Apply?

• Join a well-established Tier 1 contractor with an excellent reputation.
• Diverse project portfolio across heritage, commercial and residential sectors.
• Strong pipeline of secured work.
• Opportunity to play a key role in the future of the business as the team evolves.
• Long-term career progression within a growing operation.
• High-profile projects that will make a genuine impact across the North West.

If you're a driven Project Manager or Senior Project Manager seeking your next challenge with a contractor known for quality, stability and successful project delivery, we'd love to hear from you.
