Cleaner

Job Purpose:
To maintain a clean, safe, hygienic and presentable environment throughout Leek Fire Station, ensuring all areas meet the required cleaning standards and health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities of the Cleaner:

• Clean offices, communal areas, kitchens, toilets, washrooms and other designated areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum and dust floors and surfaces.
• Empty bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
• Replenish consumables, including soap, toilet rolls and paper towels.
• Use cleaning products and equipment safely and in accordance with COSHH requirements.
• Report maintenance issues, hazards or damage to the appropriate person.
• Maintain confidentiality and respect the operational environment of the fire station.
• Follow site security procedures, health and safety policies, and cleaning schedules.

The ideal Cleaner will have:

• Previous cleaning experience preferred.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently.
• Good attention to detail and a professional approach.
• Knowledge of basic health and safety and safe cleaning practices.
• Able to work respectfully within an operational emergency services environment.
