Field Sales Executive

An exciting opportunity to join a growing engineering business supplying specialist electronic solutions to customers across a range of high-value industries.

This is a chance to develop a largely untapped territory, build new customer relationships and play a key role in the company's commercial growth. The role would suit someone with a background in internal sales, customer service or a technical commercial position who is looking to progress into field-based technical sales.

The Role

• Identify and develop new business opportunities across the North of England and Scotland.
• Build and maintain relationships with engineering, procurement and commercial contacts.
• Research target markets, identify prospective customers and develop a strong sales pipeline.
• Understand customer requirements and work with internal technical teams to identify suitable solutions.
• Manage opportunities from initial contact through to quotation, negotiation and order.
• Develop existing accounts and identify opportunities for further business.
• Attend customer meetings, industry events and exhibitions.
• Maintain accurate sales records and work towards agreed commercial targets.

About You

• Experience in sales, customer service or a commercial role, ideally within engineering, manufacturing or a technical environment.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A proactive approach to identifying opportunities and developing new business.
• Commercial awareness and the ability to understand customer needs.
• Good organisation skills, with the ability to manage your own workload and pipeline.
• A willingness to learn technical products and develop your sales capabilities.
• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the territory.

The Opportunity

You'll receive product support and training from an experienced commercial and technical team, with the opportunity to develop your technical knowledge and progress into a more autonomous external sales role.

Working remotely and managing your own diary, you'll have the freedom to build lasting customer relationships, develop new markets and make a meaningful contribution to the company's continued growth.

The company targets companies within the aerospace, aviation, maritime, defence, rail and motor vehicle industries, so experience in any would be beneficial. OR a background in electronic/solution based manufacturing companies.
