Sales Manager, Refrigeration (Business Unit Director Pathway)
Midlands based, home working with regular office attendance
£45,000 to £55,000 DOE plus bonus

Join an established international group at the very start of something new. We are recruiting the first hire for a brand new UK refrigeration division, with a planned route to lead it as Business Unit Director.
ABOUT THE BUSINESS
Our client is a well respected, long established international group, with subsidiaries and operations across Europe. They are a trusted name with major UK customers, and the UK business has been chosen by group headquarters to lead the launch of refrigeration. The backing, the credibility and the customer relationships are already in place. What the division needs now is the right refrigeration specialist to take it forward.
THE OPPORTUNITY
This is a rare chance to build a division rather than join one. Early traction is already there, with live tenders and multi store rollout opportunities in progress with leading UK retailers. You will come in as the first member of the division, bring your own contacts and experience, and help decide how it is built.
As the division grows, you will recruit your own team, starting with an administrator, a technical project manager and service partners, then sales hires and sales managers beneath you.
YOUR ROUTE TO BUSINESS UNIT DIRECTOR
This role has been designed with progression at its heart. You will start as a hands on senior sales manager, winning business and building credibility. As the division scales, the plan is for you to step up into Business Unit Director, leading the whole refrigeration division with your own team around you. It is a defined, planned pathway and the business is committed to it, rather than a vague promise of promotion.
THE ROLE

• Win new refrigeration business through your existing contacts and new account development
• Own the sales pipeline for the new division
• Lead tenders, proposals and negotiations with retail customers
• Act as the technical authority on refrigeration for customers and colleagues
• Support store rollouts through technical project management and service partners
• Build the division's structure, processes and team
• Travel to customers, with regular attendance at the office

ABOUT YOU

• Proven sales or sales management experience within the refrigeration industry. Applications without refrigeration experience will not be considered
• Existing customer contacts in refrigeration and the ability to bring business with you
• Hands on, and happy to be on the road winning business yourself
• The ambition and capability to progress into running a division
• Experience selling to supermarkets or multiple retailers, or building a team, would be a real advantage

WHAT'S ON OFFER

• Salary £45,000 to £55,000 DOE, with scope to grow as the division grows
• Bonus on target of 12.5% of salary, with the potential to double for exceeding target
• A clear progression pathway into Business Unit Director
• The chance to build and shape a new division from the start
• Home working with regular office attendance
