Think FE is working with an established further education college in Sunderland to recruit two Plumbing Lecturers to join its construction department.
Whether you're an experienced Plumbing Lecturer or a qualified plumber looking to move into education, this could be an excellent opportunity to pass on your skills and help train the next generation of tradespeople.
You don't need to already hold a teaching qualification! The college is happy to support the right candidate through their Level 5 Diploma in Education, making this an ideal opportunity for an experienced industry professional looking to transition into teaching.
The Role As a Plumbing Lecturer, you'll deliver practical and theory-based training to learners, helping them develop the skills, knowledge and confidence needed for a successful career in the plumbing industry.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering engaging practical and classroom-based plumbing lessons.
• Supporting students in developing essential plumbing installation, maintenance and fault-finding skills.
• Planning lessons and assessing learners' progress.
• Sharing your real-world industry experience to bring learning to life.
• Maintaining a safe and supportive workshop environment.
• Helping learners achieve their qualifications and progress into employment or apprenticeships.

What We're Looking For Essential requirements:

• A minimum Level 3 qualification in Plumbing.
• At least 3 years of hands-on plumbing industry experience.
• Level 2 qualifications in Maths and English.
• Strong technical knowledge and practical plumbing skills.
• Good communication skills and a genuine interest in helping others develop.
• A professional, patient and approachable attitude.

Teaching experience is welcome but not essential. If you're coming directly from industry, the college will support you in working towards your Level 5 Diploma in Education.
Permanent Opportunity Salary: £31,375 – £40,912 per annum
