The Opportunity

We are looking for a confident, personable and customer-focused individual to join an established business in Greater Manchester in a varied Internal Sales and Customer Account position.

This is not a heavily targeted sales role . Instead, you will focus on developing strong relationships with existing customers, understanding their requirements and identifying appropriate opportunities to upsell and cross-sell products and services .

Initially, you will predominantly work with UK customers, communicating with them by telephone and email as well as meeting customers face-to-face. You'll also have the opportunity to travel to customer sites, so you must be comfortable being out on the road when required.

Full training will be provided , making this an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong customer service, account management or internal sales background who wants to develop their commercial experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers
• Manage customer enquiries by telephone and email
• Identify appropriate upselling and cross-selling opportunities
• Understand individual customer requirements and recommend suitable solutions
• Visit customers across the UK when required
• Meet and support customers visiting the office
• Provide a high standard of customer service throughout the customer journey
• Follow up with existing customers and maintain regular contact
• Work closely with internal departments to ensure customer requirements are met
• Maintain accurate customer and account information
• Develop product and industry knowledge through ongoing training

• Confident and professional when dealing with customers
• Comfortable speaking to customers both over the phone and face-to-face

• Comfortable travelling to customer sites
• Organised with good attention to detail
• Confident using computer systems
• Keen to learn and develop

A full UK driving licence will be required due to the customer visits and company car.

Working Hours

There are two working patterns:

Option 1:
Monday to Thursday: 9:00am – 5:00pm
Friday: 9:00am – 2:30pm

Option 2:
Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:00pm
Friday: 8:00am – 1:30pm

Additional Information

The position comes with an initial three-month probationary period , which may be extended to six months if required.
