Mechanical Fitter

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established specialist vehicle manufacturing business for a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join their growing production team based at Trafford Park. The Mechanical Fitter role offers a competitive annual salary of 35,500 and provides excellent opportunities for career development within a respected company that designs and manufactures high-quality commercial vehicle bodies.
This is a full-time position with a 44-hour working week, featuring flexible working hours and an early finish on Fridays. Duties:

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and work orders accurately
• Assemble and fit specialist commercial vehicle bodies, ensuring high standards of quality and safety
• Install insulated panels on refrigerated vehicle bodies
• Complete electrical terminations, including lighting, switches, and tail lifts
• Seal joints, floors, and roofs using silicone and specialist coatings
• Cut and prepare metal, timber, and plastic components using workshop machinery
• Safely use hand tools, measuring equipment, and workshop machinery
• Maintain excellent housekeeping standards across workshop and site locations
• Follow all health and safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies
• Support the wider production team with additional duties as required

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter or in a similar manufacturing or engineering environment
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Experience using hand tools and workshop equipment safely
• Strong understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
• Good time management and organisational skills
• Reliable transportation or ability to travel to Trafford Park
