Material Controller (6-month FTC)

The Material Controller will be responsible for ensuring the effective planning of manufactured and/or purchased material to maximise the effective use of resources and minimise any disruption caused by constraints.

This is working for a global manufacturing business and is required on a6-month contract .

The role benefits fromhybrid working with you typically being on site 3 days per week. The working pattern means you finish work on a Friday at 1.30 pm giving you more of a weekend!

Role and Responsibilities of the Material Controller

• Ensure component requirements are correct and communicated to suppliers in a timely, professionalmanner
• Understand and implement any MRP generated 'messages' and amend supplier schedules accordingly
• Manage open order books to ensure appropriate order coverage and optimal inventory levels
• Ensure inventory levels of components under individual control are in alignment with departmentalobjectives
• Ensure external logistics costs are optimised using normal transportation methods
• Highlight future supply risks
• Provide monthly forecast of expected deliveries
• Proactively resolve invoice queries
• Identify and remedy excess inventory

Candidate requirements for the Material Controller

• Previous experience required in a similar role
• CIPS qualification is advantageous
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Be able to identify problems and offer solutions
• Sound working knowledge of ERP systems, preferably Infor
