BMS Key Account Manager

Location: London / South East - Hybrid
Package: 60 to 75k + Commission + Car / Car Allowance + Benefits
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time

We are currently working with a leading BMS, energy and building performance specialist who are looking for an experienced Key Account Manager to join their team, managing and developing a portfolio of key clients across London and the South East.

This is a technical and commercially focused position, combining BMS/BEMS knowledge, account management and business development . You will take ownership of existing client relationships, ensuring services are delivered successfully while identifying opportunities to grow accounts through additional BMS, energy and building performance solutions.

The Role

You will act as the main point of contact for a portfolio of key accounts, working closely with clients, engineers and operational teams to maintain strong relationships and develop further opportunities.

• Manage and develop a portfolio of key BMS and building performance clients
• Build relationships with stakeholders from site level through to senior management
• Understand clients' estates, BMS requirements, energy objectives and net zero targets
• Develop account plans focused on client retention, growth and long-term relationships
• Identify opportunities for additional BMS, energy and building performance services
• Carry out or support building surveys and develop proposals for BMS upgrades and enhancements
• Prepare technical and commercial proposals, presentations and reports
• Lead contract renewals and commercial negotiations
• Work closely with operational teams to ensure projects and services are delivered effectively
• Monitor contract and SLA performance and act as an escalation point for client issues
• Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and account forecast
• Track account revenue, margin, renewals and growth opportunities
• Keep up to date with developments across BMS, energy management and carbon reduction

Experience Required

• Strong technical background within BMS/BEMS or building controls
• Previous experience as a BMS Engineer, Commissioning Engineer, Applications Engineer, Technical Sales Engineer or similar would be advantageous
• 3+ years' experience within sales, account management or a commercially focused role
• Good understanding of HVAC and building services
• Ability to survey buildings and identify opportunities for BMS upgrades or improvements
• Proven experience managing and developing client relationships
• Track record of growing accounts and achieving commercial targets
• Strong technical and commercial communication skills
• Confident presenting proposals and negotiating with senior stakeholders
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites
• Experience with Trend, Tridium Niagara or Schneider would be advantageous
• Knowledge of energy management, optimisation, net zero services or regulations such as MEES, SECR, ESOS and Part L would also be beneficial
