Are you an experienced relationship manager who genuinely understands the challenges of running and growing a business?

We’re working with a well-established and highly regarded business-focused organisation in Wolverhampton to recruit a Senior Relationship Manager.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys developing meaningful, long-term relationships with businesses rather than simply managing accounts from behind a desk.

You’ll work directly with business owners, directors and senior leaders, getting to understand their organisations, commercial priorities, challenges and growth plans. You’ll then use that insight to identify opportunities, provide practical support and connect them with relevant services, resources and commercial opportunities.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll manage your own portfolio of key business relationships, taking a proactive approach to engagement and ensuring each organisation receives a genuinely valuable service.

Day to day, you’ll be:

• Building trusted relationships with business owners, directors and senior decision-makers
• Holding regular account reviews to understand business objectives, challenges and future plans
• Developing individual account plans and identifying opportunities for greater engagement
• Providing practical business support, guidance and introductions
• Connecting businesses with relevant services, events, training, funding opportunities and specialist support
• Identifying opportunities for collaboration and commercial introductions
• Spotting opportunities to develop existing accounts and generate additional revenue
• Attending business events, networking opportunities and client meetings across the region
• Maintaining accurate CRM records and managing your portfolio proactively

About you

We’re open-minded about your background. You may have worked within senior account management, relationship management, business support, consultancy or advisory services – or you may have previously run your own SME and be looking to use that commercial experience in a different environment.

You’ll need to be commercially astute, confident dealing with senior decision-makers and able to quickly understand how a business operates.

A broad understanding of areas such as sales, finance, marketing, people and operations will be valuable, but just as important is your ability to listen, ask intelligent questions and build credibility.

What’s on offer

Up to £35,000 per annum + bonus scheme, with the potential for a salary increase after six months based on performance.

You’ll also receive 27 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, an additional paid day off for your birthday, employer pension contribution, death-in-service cover and access to an employee healthcare scheme.

This is a 35-hour working week, Monday to Friday. You’ll spend a minimum of two days per week at the Wolverhampton office, alongside meetings and business events across the region.
