Cover Supervisor

We are currently looking for a dedicated and confident Cover Supervisor to join a specialist SEN setting in Bristol , supporting pupils with a range of additional learning needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous experience working with children or young people who is looking to develop their experience within a specialist environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher, following pre-prepared lesson plans and ensuring pupils remain engaged and supported throughout the school day. You will also play an important role in maintaining a positive and structured classroom environment.

The role would suit someone who is confident working with pupils with Autism, SEMH, ADHD, behavioural needs and other additional learning needs , and who can build positive relationships while maintaining clear boundaries.

Key responsibilities:

• Supervise classes and deliver pre-prepared work in the absence of the class teacher.
• Support pupils with a range of SEN and additional learning needs.
• Maintain a calm, safe and structured classroom environment.
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement with learning.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and provide appropriate support.
• Work alongside Teaching Assistants and wider school staff.
• Adapt your approach to meet individual pupil needs where required.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff on pupil engagement and behaviour.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience working with children or young people.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEN is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and behaviour-management skills.
• A genuine interest in supporting pupils with additional needs and helping them progress.
